Empowering a sustainable future

The provisional State of the Global Climate report by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), issued November 30, confirms that 2023 is set to be the warmest year on record. The past nine years, 2015 to 2023, were also the warmest on record. “Greenhouse gas levels are record high. Global temperatures are record high. Sea level rise is record high. Antarctic sea ice is record low. It’s a deafening cacophony of broken records,” said WMO Secretary-General Prof. Petteri Taalas.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change has said, "The scientific evidence is unequivocal: climate change is a threat to human wellbeing and the health of the planet. Any further delay in concerted global action will miss the brief, rapidly closing window to secure a liveable future."

But there is a bright side. The world is on the cusp of a once-in-a-generation clean energy effort. The federal government of the United States has committed $8 Billion to fund regional hydrogen production hubs strategically placed throughout the country.

OneSix Energy is based in Detroit, Michigan, which is part of the Midwest Hydrogen Hub consisting of Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. The hub will focus efforts around developing regional supply chains for the fuel source. The goal is to create a market for fueling trucks and heavy-duty vehicles with clean hydrogen, which comes without any tailpipe emissions.

We believe we are in the perfect place—at the perfect time—to bring our innovation to market as our beachhead for continued growth, throughout the U.S. and around the world. We’re committed to doing our part to make a tangible difference for our children, our world, and our future.

We invite you to join us as we help usher in the Age of Hydrogen.

Our Story

Hydrogen Power made efficient

Avoiding the ravages of climate change requires inexpensive carbon-free energy sources. Yet, our society is built around the enormous amounts of natural gas being produced each year - enough to continuously power a half-billion lightbulbs. Practicality demands that we find a way to cleanly use methane rather than replace it.

Methane pyrolysis should be the key to this practical approach. It, in theory, produces hydrogen, which is a clean fuel. It also produces solid carbon powder with only trace greenhouse gasses. Scanning the marketplace, the lack of methane pyrolysis companies suggests there are significant challenges that have prevented theory from becoming reality.

OneSix Energy has developed a novel, patent-pending methane pyrolysis process that has the potential to overcome these challenges.
